Ethereal audio player is a lossless music player for iOS.
It supports .flac .ogg .wav and more with a very special look and feel.
For iPad, you can choose an open reel recorder as the UI, and for the iPod touch and iPhone, you can select different cassettes and controls.
Audio and video are airplay compatible
*NOTE* Only upload "flac" and "ogg" files in your app documents folder via iTunes.
**NOTE** if you upload your music, you need to restart the app in order for the new files to be loaded.

Used to be a cool idea, which was useless... Now, its just useless.
This audio player used to be kind of cool, with its reel-to-reel theme, but not very user friendly, and of course not able to play DRM-protected Apple Music files... So, I used it very infrequently, and in an inherent iPad storage crisis, it didnt make the cut, and was subsequently deleted. A couple weeks ago, I noticed it, while reviewing my app purchase history, and thought I would give it a second try. Unfortunately, it seems that Ethereal had no interest in a second chance, (possibly still steamed over my no-explanation breakup) as it opens, only to instantaneously crash every time. Dont waste your time on this lemon... Trust me, youre not missing anything.

Doesnt work...
Tried to load some songs but they wouldnt appear in the app. Restarted the phone and the app just crashed when I went back to it. More effort than it is worth so I am asking for a refund.

Worthwhile for High-Res downloads
Works well with all file formats and resolutions Ive tried. Occasionally skips when running in the background and you are using another app. Continues to be improved, however the latest version appears to have lost support for lossless .m4a files.

I love the retro style of the open reel recorder on my iPad, adding files via iTunes is very easy and I can switch between my iTunes Library and my .flac library with one single button. An the sound quality is great!!

LOVE THIS APP
Just a note: The VU meters dont seem to be working like they did. PLEASE FIX THE VU METERS. The red digital readout, for song length, is way to dark to read on deck number one. Would LOVE to see some kind of equalization. Low, mid, high. Or some "Presets". Come on, do it........... Please!!!!!!!!
